Mover of Mountains Nonprofit Corporation (MOM) wasn't created in a boardroom; it emerged from struggle. Our founder, Hyacinth Harley,
experienced pain firsthand as she navigated trauma, heartbreak, and loss. Throughout her journey, serving in church leadership, corporate
boardrooms, reentry circles, and community classrooms, she observed a common theme: people feeling forgotten, overwhelmed, and
alone. Many were stuck in "the middle."
The Middle is the often-ignored gap where individuals find themselves after being released from institutions or systems. They may have survived immediate crises, but struggle to realize their potential. It’s the space between:
At MOM, we step into this middle with a whole-person reinvention approach. We don’t just treat symptoms; we invest in the soul and aim for true transformation by connecting purpose, potential, and practical tools.
Mover of Mountains exists to restore dignity, ignite purpose, and guide people into lasting transformation. We serve youth and adults in underserved communities, including those impacted by incarceration, trauma, addiction, or human trafficking, by equipping them with the tools to heal, grow, and lead. Through trauma-informed care, life skills training, and leadership development, we support our communities as they transition from a state of survival to self-leadership.
We envision a world where dignity is the starting point, not the exception. Where healing is accessible. And where transformation isn’t left to chance, it’s built together, through systems, support, and shared humanity.
These values shape every decision we make, every program we offer, and every life we touch. They remind us to lead with dignity,
compassion, and unwavering commitment to those we serve.
We believe every person deserves to be seen, heard, and valued, no matter their past or pain. This is reflected in our trauma-informed care, identity rebuilding practices, and commitment to nonjudgmental healing spaces.
We guide individuals from surviving to thriving by helping them discover their voice, gifts, and direction through leadership development, personal growth, and confidence-building.
We equip our participants with practical tools to build a secure, empowered future, including workforce readiness, financial literacy, and pathways to economic mobility and independence.
We don’t just prepare people for the world—we prepare communities to receive them with hope and support, through partnerships with families, churches, and agencies and a focus on creating safe, thriving spaces for all.
